Local Businesses Invited to be part of Melbourne Cup Visit Festivities
The highly anticipated Lexus Melbourne Cup visit to Cunnamulla on Tuesday September 19th promises to be a momentous occasion for the community, and the organising committee is excited to extend an open invitation to local businesses and street vendors to partake in the festivities.
In a bid to create an electric atmosphere that reflects the spirit of horse racing and the Melbourne Cup, the organising committee encourages all businesses to join in the festivities by adorning their footpaths and shop fronts with vibrant decorations inspired by the prestigious event.
From captivating Melbourne Cup-themed window displays to creative shop front decorations, participating businesses will play an integral role in setting the stage for the parade and garnering media coverage throughout the day.
Stockyard Street between the roundabout and Louise Street will be temporarily closed to traffic from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM to accommodate the celebrations. The committee also welcomes street vendors to set up stalls offering food and other items.
To further elevate the festivities, local businesses have the unique opportunity to extend their storefront space by placing additional furniture on the footpath outside their premises during the event. This extension falls under Council's Prescribed Activity Permit, providing business owners with the freedom to creatively showcase their products or services.
The Melbourne Cup visit to Cunnamulla promises to be a celebration like no other, and the organising committee looks forward to the active participation of businesses and street vendors in adding their creative flair to the day. This is a unique opportunity for businesses to connect with the community, showcase their brand and contribute to a day filled with unforgettable memories.
