Australia Day Celebrations with Special Guest Peter Bongiorni
The Paroo Shire invites the community to come together for a vibrant celebration of Australia Day on Sunday, 26 January 2025, with events planned across Cunnamulla, Yowah, Wyandra, and Eulo. This year’s celebrations will feature Australia Day Ambassador Peter Bongiorni, President of the Ukrainian Community of Queensland Inc., as the special guest.
About Peter Bongiorni
Peter Bongiorni is a passionate community leader and advocate for cultural inclusivity. As President of the Ukrainian Community of Queensland, he has championed efforts to preserve Ukrainian heritage, foster community engagement, and lead impactful initiatives, such as the Ukraine Crisis Appeal and the Ukrainian Festival Brisbane.
Recognised with the Queensland Government’s Minister's Multicultural Award in 2023, Peter’s dedication to multiculturalism and community leadership has made a significant impact in Queensland’s cultural landscape. His inspiring vision, strategic expertise, and collaborative spirit have enriched Queensland’s multicultural communities, making him a fitting ambassador for Australia Day celebrations.

- 7:00 AM – Business Triathlon Challenge
- 8:00 AM – BBQ Breakfast
- 8:30 AM – Australia Day Awards Ceremony
- 9:00 AM – 50m Dash for Cash (in the pool)
- 9:30 AM onwards – Kids' games and activities with All About Aquatics Cunnamulla
Wyandra Hall
- 7:30 AM – BBQ Breakfast
Yowah Community Hall
- 11:00 AM – Community Luncheon
Eulo Queen Hotel
- 6:30 PM – BBQ Dinner
